Description
This is a Mossberg Model 340KA bolt-action rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges. It features a blued metal finish and a 24-inch barrel with Mossbergs AC-KRO-GRUV rifling. The receiver is mounted in a one-piece hardwood stock featuring a Monte Carlo-style comb and a black plastic buttplate. The rifle is equipped with an adjustable rear notch sight and a fixed front blade sight. One detachable box magazine is included, which is marked for Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges. The stock is fitted with two sling swivels for a carrying strap. Key markings on the barrel include O.F. MOSSBERG & SONS INC, NORTH HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A., AC-KRO-GRUV, MODEL 340KA, and .22 S-L-LR. The buttplate also bears the Mossberg name. No serial number was observed on the external surfaces of this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the barrel and receiver shows visible thinning and wear consistent with age and field use, with some areas of light surface oxidation and minor pitting present on the exterior of the barrel. The bore has not been inspected. The hardwood stock is in good overall condition, showing scattered light scratches, dings, and scuffs, but remains structurally sound. The action appears to function smoothly, although the firearm has not been function tested or live-fire tested. The plastic buttplate shows minor wear and some scuffing at the edges.
