Description
This is a single Connecticut Valley Arms Inc. Gobbler model 12 gauge percussion muzzleloading shotgun produced as a National Wild Turkey Federation Special Edition 2000 commemorative. The firearm features a blued barrel that transitions from an octagonal profile at the breech to a round profile towards the muzzle, equipped with a single brass bead front sight. The color case-hardened lock plate and hammer display decorative scrollwork and specific commemorative markings. Verbatim markings on the barrel include CONNECTICUT VALLEY ARMS Inc., MADE IN SPAIN Black Powder Only, GOBBLER, and 12 Ga. The left side of the breech is stamped with Spanish proof marks and the serial number 61-13-071954-99. The lock plate is engraved with Gobbler Series and Special Edition 2000 alongside a circular turkey logo. The checkered wood stock is decorated with a multi-color graphic on the right side of the buttstock depicting a turkey on a branch labeled NWTF 2000. The shotgun is further equipped with a ventilated brown rubber recoil pad, sling swivels, and a black ramrod with a flared brass tip stored in a single pipe beneath the barrel. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in very good condition, retaining a high percentage of its original blued finish on the barrel and vibrant color case-hardening on the lock and hammer. The wood stock is well-preserved with crisp checkering and a clear, intact buttstock graphic, showing only minor handling marks. The bore is bright and appears free of pitting or significant corrosion. The percussion action functions smoothly with a strong hammer. The firearm retains a yellow manufacturer\'s hang tag attached to the trigger guard.
