Description
This lot contains 71 cartridges of .38 Special ammunition and a 500-round brick of .22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition. The .38 Special group consists of 26 Remington (+P) cartridges featuring 125-grain semi-jacketed hollow point bullets (model R38S2) in nickel-plated cases, including headstamps marked R-P 38 SPL and a single round marked WESTERN 38 SPL. Accompanying these are 45 Winchester USA .38 Special cartridges with 150-grain lead bullets (model Q4196) and WINCHESTER 38 SPL headstamps on brass cases. The rimfire ammunition is a complete 500-round brick of Remington 22 Thunderbolt Hi-Speed cartridges (model TB-22A), comprised of ten individual 50-round boxes of lead round-nose bullets. These rimfire rounds feature brass cases with the stylized Remington mark Rem visible on the base. Marking transcriptions from the packaging include Remington 38 Special (+P) 125 Gr. Semi-Jacketed H.P. R38S2, Winchester USA 38 Special 150 Gr. Lead Q4196, and Remington 22 Thunderbolt 22 Long Rifle Hi-Speed 500 Rimfire Cartridges.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears in overall good, live condition. Some .38 Special cartridges exhibit minor surface oxidation and tarnish on the brass and nickel cases and primers, typical of age. The .22 Thunderbolt ammunition appears clean and well-maintained. The cardboard packaging shows moderate shelf wear including edge fraying, minor scuffs, and small corner tears on the .38 Special boxes and the outer sleeve of the .22 Thunderbolt brick. Individual boxes within the brick appear to be in very good condition with light handling wear.
