Description
A Remington Model 11 The Sportsman semi-automatic shotgun chambered for 12 gauge. This example features a 30-inch barrel with a single bead front sight. The blued steel receiver is decorated with roll-engraved game scenes, depicting a flying duck on the left side and a pheasant on the right. Key markings include the model designation THE SPORTSMAN on the left receiver wall, alongside Remington REG.U.S.PAT.OFF. and the serial number 510897. The barrel is roll-stamped with REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC., ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. BROWNING’S U.S. PATS. 689,283-710,094-730,870-812,326 and 12 GA. Visible proof marks include a circled REP and an anchor symbol. The firearm is fitted with a plain walnut stock and forend, with the stock modified through the addition of an aftermarket Pachmayr White Line ventilated recoil pad. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The original blued finish shows general wear consistent with field use, including thinning on the high edges of the receiver and the bolt handle. There are areas of light surface oxidation and spotting visible along the length of the barrel and on the front sight base. The bore is bright. The action appears to function correctly, although the firearm has not been function-tested. The walnut stock and forend exhibit numerous scratches, dings, and compression marks throughout the finish. The Pachmayr recoil pad is intact but shows signs of age.
