Description
This is a Remington Model 10 pump-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, configured with a 30-inch barrel featuring a fixed full choke and a single bead front sight. The firearm utilizes a bottom-ejection system and a solid-frame receiver. The metal surfaces are finished in a blued coating that shows extensive thinning and a transition to a natural patina. It is fitted with a ribbed wood pump handle and a smooth wood buttstock with a straight comb, ending in a checkered hard rubber buttplate. Key markings include the stylized Remington trademark over MODEL 10 and the serial number 255070 on the receiver. The barrel is roll-stamped with REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC., REMINGTON ILION WORKS, ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. and PATENT NUMBERS 1,579,177 – 1,660,216. Additional barrel markings specify 12 GA. and FULL, with the matching serial number 255070 and proof marks consisting of an REP in an oval and an anchor. The buttplate is marked REMINGTON UMC. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal finish is in fair to good condition, exhibiting significant thinning of the original bluing on the receiver and barrel, which has largely aged to a plum-brown patina. There is no visible heavy pitting or active corrosion. The bore was not inspected. The wooden furniture shows numerous minor scratches, dings, and surface wear consistent with age, with a notable wood chip missing from the lower left side of the buttstock at the toe. The action appears to function smoothly, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
