Description
This Remington Targetmaster Model 510-P is a classic single-shot bolt-action rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges. The rifle features a 25-inch barrel and is configured for target shooting or small game hunting. The metal components, including the barrel and receiver, were originally finished in a factory bluing, while the furniture consists of a one-piece wood stock with a smooth pistol grip and forend. This particular P variant is distinctive for its factory sighting system, which includes a front blade sight and a rear receiver-mounted aperture or peep sight. The butt of the stock is fitted with a black checkered composition buttplate featuring the Remington logo. Verbatim barrel markings include REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC., ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. – PATENTS PENDING and THE TARGETMASTER MODEL 510-P, along with the caliber designation .22 SHORT, LONG OR LONG RIFLE. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal finish shows extensive, heavy surface oxidation and pitting throughout the barrel and receiver. The one-piece wood stock displays numerous scratches, handling dings, and a prominent patch of white residue or finish loss on the left side of the buttstock. The action appears to function mechanically, but the firearm has not been function-tested. The checkered composition buttplate remains in good condition with clear manufacturer markings.
