Description
Two vintage baitcasting fishing reels manufactured by Lew Childre. The first reel is marked LEW CHILDRE Speed Spool BB-1LG and features a black finished metal housing with brass-toned tension knobs and a star drag. The second reel is marked LEW CHILDRE Speed Spool BB-1N and includes BROWNING and 3 BALL BEARINGS branding on the side plate, featuring silver-toned knobs and components. Both reels are equipped with large, textured black plastic double-paddle handles and are marked MADE IN JAPAN on the underside of the reel foot. The reels retain residual fishing line; the BB-1LG contains gray braided line, while the BB-1N contains clear monofilament line. The construction consists primarily of metal and composite materials.
Condition report:
Both reels exhibit signs of moderate use and age-related wear. Observable surface dust, grime, and light oxidation are present on various components. There is visible loss to the black exterior coating, particularly along edges and the reel foot. Residual fishing line is tangled on the spools. Mechanical functionality has not been tested.
