Description
This lot comprises a total of 26 centerfire rifle cartridges in .270 Win caliber, presented in two vintage retail boxes. The first box is Hornady Frontier, featuring red packaging labeled for 130-grain Spire Point bullets. Verbatim markings on the packaging include Hornadys FRONTIER CARTRIDGES and Loaded with HORNADY SUPER-SHOCK BULLETS. The brass casings for this portion of the lot feature headstamps marked FRONTIER on the upper curve and 270 WIN on the lower curve. The second box is a Remington Express Core-Lokt container, which originally held twenty 150-grain soft point (SP) bullets with the manufacturer product code R270W4. These cartridges feature brass cases with headstamps transcribed as R – P on the upper curve and 270 WIN on the lower curve. The collection provides a variety of projectile weights for the .270 Winchester chambering, suitable for target use or as period-correct collectible items.
Condition report:
The ammunition boxes exhibit shelf wear consistent with age and handling. The Hornady Frontier box shows significant edge fraying, scuffing, and corner wear, while the Remington box displays moderate wear and includes blue ink markings on the front face. The brass casings on the cartridges show some light surface tarnish and age-related patina, but appear free of significant corrosion or damage. Primers are unspent and bullets appear properly seated. This ammunition is sold as a collectible item and has not been function-tested.
