Description
This is a single Harrington & Richardson Topper M48 single-shot break-action shotgun chambered in 16 gauge. It is configured with a 26 inch barrel bored with a fixed choke. The metal surfaces consist of a blued steel barrel and a case-hardened receiver that shows characteristic mottled patterning. The furniture includes a smooth wood stock and matching forend. Key markings include the model and manufacturer information on the left side of the receiver, which reads TOPPER M48 / HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON ARMS CO. / WORCESTER, MASS. MADE IN U.S.A. verbatim. Barrel markings on the top near the breech specify MADE IN U.S.A. 16 GA CHOKE. The shotgun is fitted with a brown Pachmayr White Line ventilated rubber recoil pad. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The barrel retains a high percentage of its original blued finish with minor surface wear and occasional light scratches. The receiver displays strong case-hardened colors with some thinning and silvering along the high edges. The bore is bright. The wood stock and forend show minor dings, compressions, and handling marks consistent with age and use but remain structurally sound. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The aftermarket Pachmayr recoil pad is in good condition.
