Description
This J.C. Higgins semi-automatic rifle is chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges and is configured with a tubular magazine located beneath the barrel. Key markings on the left side of the barrel include the J.C. Higgins brand name in script, followed by 22 CAL S.L. & L.R. MOD. 29, the store model number 103.19810, and SEARS, ROEBUCK AND CO. The firearm features a blued steel receiver and barrel mounted in a one-piece wooden stock with a light-colored finish and integrated sling swivel studs. It is equipped with a fixed front sight blade and an adjustable ramp-style rear sight. However, this lot is missing its bolt assembly and associated internal action components. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal components are in poor condition, showing extensive and heavy surface rust and pitting across the entirety of the barrel and receiver. The wooden stock is in fair condition with numerous minor scratches, scuffs, and handling marks throughout the finish. The black synthetic buttplate is scuffed and shows a small chip at the toe. The action is currently inoperable as the firearm is missing its bolt. The bore was not inspected, but the exterior condition suggests the firearm has been subject to poor storage conditions.
