Description
A Remington Model 512 Sportmaster bolt-action rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges. This rifle features an under-barrel tubular magazine and a one-piece smooth wood stock. The barrel is equipped with a hooded front post sight and a factory-standard adjustable rear elevator leaf sight. The metal components maintain a blued finish, and the stock is capped with a black checkered composition buttplate embossed with the Remington name. Key markings on the top of the barrel include Remington Arms Co., Inc., Ilion, N.Y., Made in U.S.A. / Patent Numbers – 1,908,035 – 1,913,840 – 2,356,257 and The Sportmaster / Reg.U.S.Pat.Off / Model 512. The left side of the barrel is roll-stamped .22 Short, Long or Long Rifle. and contains additional inspection stamps of E W W 3 over R S S. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
Blued finish shows moderate thinning and field wear, with scattered light surface freckling on the barrel, receiver, and bolt handle. The wood stock exhibits numerous scratches, dings, and surface impressions consistent with age and use. The action appears to cycle correctly, and the magazine tube is intact. The checkered composition buttplate shows minor wear but remains in good condition. The bore was not inspected.
