Description
This Mossberg 500A is a classic pump-action shotgun chambered for 12 gauge and configured for home defense or utility use with an 18.5 inch barrel featuring a cylinder bore. The barrel and magazine tube exhibit a blued finish while the aluminum alloy receiver has aged to a distinct dark plum color. The firearm is fitted with durable black polymer furniture including a buttstock with a textured pistol grip and a ribbed pump forend. A single brass bead front sight is mounted at the muzzle for rapid target acquisition. The buttstock is finished with a factory black rubber recoil pad embossed with the Mossberg name. Key markings on the underside of the receiver include Mossberg, MADE IN USA, NORTH HAVEN, CONN., and 500A 12 GA. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the serial number R587445. Barrel markings specify CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4 AND 3 IN. SHELLS – 12 GA. – 18 1/2 IN. CYLINDER BORE along with a standard safety warning. The action appears to function correctly although we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in good overall condition. The blued finish on the barrel and magazine tube shows some light surface scuffs and operational wear from the pump action. The receiver\'s anodized finish has uniform plum-colored aging with minor scratches. The polymer stock and forend are well-preserved with typical light handling marks but no cracks or structural damage. The bore appears bright and well-maintained. The action is smooth and the trigger and top-mounted safety operate as intended.
