Description
This is a Yugoslavian-manufactured Zastava SKS Model 59/66 semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm, originally produced for the Yugoslav People’s Army and later imported into the United States. The rifle features a approximately 22-inch barrel that retains its integral grenade launcher muzzle attachment, along with the original front sight tower and gas block assembly. The major metal components exhibit a blued finish, contrasted by a polished steel bolt and bolt carrier. The firearm has been modernized with a black polymer TAPCO-brand collapsible buttstock assembly featuring an integrated pistol grip and a ribbed handguard. The sighting system consists of the original adjustable rear tangent sight and a front post, supplemented by an aftermarket receiver cover with an integrated Picatinny-style optics rail and a railed gas tube cover. Accessories include a detachable high-capacity curved steel magazine and a black paracord-wrapped sling. Prominent markings include the serial number O-566632 visible on the receiver and bolt carrier, with barrel markings specifying MDL 59/66 YUGO 7.62X39 and C.A.I. GEORGIA VT. The original folding bayonet has been removed from this rifle and is not included. The collapsible stock is fitted with a textured rubber recoil pad. Condition report:
The blued finish on the receiver and barrel is in good used condition, showing minor thinning at the edges and typical high-point wear. The polished bolt and bolt carrier remain bright, although some light surface oxidation is present on the charging handle. The TAPCO polymer stock and pistol grip components are well-preserved with no significant scratches or signs of impact. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, though the firearm has not been function-tested. The bore was not inspected. The detachable magazine and optics rails are securely mounted.
