Description
This High Standard Pointer pump-action shotgun is chambered for 12 gauge shells with a 2 3/4-inch chamber and features a 30-inch barrel equipped with a ventilated rib and a single brass bead front sight. The firearm is finished with a blued barrel and receiver, accented by a gold-toned trigger. It is fitted with a checkered wood stock and a matching forend, terminating in a brown ventilated rubber recoil pad with black and white spacers. The receiver features an engraved pointer dog on both sides and bears the serial number 3099628 on its lower left side. Verbatim markings on the barrel include POINTER / HIGH STANDARD MFG. CORP. / HAMDEN, CONN. and PROOF TESTED – 12 GA. / 2 3/4″ CHAMBER. Additional stamps on the barrel include an HSP within an oval, an asterisk-style proof mark, and an HP under a crown. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun shows moderate wear consistent with field use. The blued finish exhibits thinning and scattered scratches, particularly on the receiver and the high points of the barrel. There are several dings, handling marks, and scratches visible on the wood stock and forend, though the checkering remains distinct. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, but we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore is bright with some light fouling consistent with use. The rubber recoil pad shows some age-related compression but remains intact.
