Description
This lot consists of a mixed assortment of 175 .30 Carbine caliber centerfire rifle cartridges housed within four vintage cardboard ammunition boxes. The collection includes a variety of projectile types such as copper-jacketed round nose bullets, unjacketed lead round nose bullets, and several star-crimped blank cartridges. The packaging represents several eras of Winchester branding including one Winchester-Western box with the WW logo, one Winchester box with a yellow and blue X logo, one yellow Winchester box with a red W logo, and one Winchester Super-X box. Prominent box markings include 50 CENTER FIRE RIFLE CARTRIDGES, SUPER-X, and WINCHESTER. Visible headstamps on the cartridges include W.C.C. 43, W.C.C. 44, and REM-UMC .30 CARBINE. A single cartridge among the lead-bullet assortment features a purple primer sealant. The cartridges appear to be a non-uniform mixture of vintage military and commercial production intended for use in the M1 Carbine and similar firearms.
Condition report:
The ammunition exhibits significant age-related wear including tarnishing and dulling of the brass cases. The lead projectiles show heavy white oxidation and the copper-jacketed rounds show some surface darkening. The cardboard boxes are in fair to poor condition with notable scuffing, staining, edge wear, and several torn or missing flaps. The cartridges appear to be live and intact but are sold as collector items with no warranty of performance or safety. Action functionality is not applicable for this ammunition lot.
