Description
This is a Meriden Fire Arms Company A.J. Aubrey side-by-side hammerless shotgun chambered in 20 gauge, featuring 18.5 inch barrels. The firearm is configured with a break-action design, dual triggers, and a tang-mounted sliding safety mechanism. The metal surfaces exhibit a mottled grey and brown patina across the barrels and receiver, while the wooden furniture consists of a smooth walnut stock and matching forend. The sighting arrangement consists of a single brass bead on the textured top rib. The buttstock is finished with a black, horizontally-ribbed hard rubber buttplate. Key markings include the manufacturer designation on the top rib which reads MFD. BY THE MERIDEN FIRE ARMS CO., MERIDEN. CONN. PAT. APPLIED FOR. The side plates are marked THE A.J. AUBREY. The barrel flats and water table are stamped with the serial number 14925. Additional markings on the barrel flats include the gauge designation T 20 and the code T 32. A small crack is noted in the wood at the wrist behind the upper tang. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal finish shows significant age-related wear, characterized by a mottled grey and brown patina with visible surface pitting and oxidation present throughout the barrels and receiver. The bores were not inspected but likely show wear consistent with the exterior condition. The action appears to function correctly; however, we have not function-tested this firearm. The wooden stock and forend exhibit numerous scratches, dings, and a small crack at the wrist area behind the upper tang. The buttplate shows light wear but remains intact.
