Description
This Charter Arms Undercover is a compact five-shot double-action revolver chambered in .38 Special designed for concealed carry. The firearm features a two-inch barrel with an integrated fixed front blade sight and a serrated top rib. The construction consists of a steel barrel and cylinder paired with a blued frame. The cylinder exhibits a distinct purplish or plum hue often associated with specific heat-treating processes in earlier production models. The revolver is fitted with smooth hardwood grips featuring silver-toned medallions embossed with USA and the Charter Arms logo. Markings are clear and include UNDERCOVER .38 SPL. on the left side of the barrel and CHARTER ARMS CORP. STRATFORD, CONN. on the right side. The serial number 698813 is stamped on the right side of the frame. The revolver features a standard hammer with a checkered spur and a smooth trigger. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in fair to good used condition. The blued finish on the frame and barrel shows areas of wear and surface oxidation, with light pitting visible on the muzzle, the front sight blade, the top rib, and the hammer. The cylinder retains a strong plum-colored finish with a visible turn line. The wood grips are intact and well-fitted, exhibiting minor handling dings and scratches consistent with age. The bore shows strong rifling with some internal fouling and light frosting. The double-action and single-action mechanisms appear to function correctly, and the cylinder locks up securely.
