Description
A set of professional grade Model 700C chain link handcuffs manufactured by the Peerless Handcuff Company of Springfield, Massachusetts. The handcuffs are constructed from nickel-plated steel and feature a swing-through design with a double-locking mechanism. One cuff rim is stamped with the manufacturer mark PEERLESS HANDCUFF CO. SPRINGFIELD MA, and the opposite rim is stamped MADE IN USA PATENTED. The side plates are stamped with the serial number 472972 and the model number 700C. The cuffs are connected by two carbon steel chain links. The item includes its original blue and red cardstock retail box, which identifies the product as meeting National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Type 3 standards. Text on the reverse of the box notes that the company was established in 1914 and mentions the classic design continuing one hundred years later, indicating a manufacture date of circa 2014 or later.
Condition report:
The handcuffs are in excellent, near-new condition with a bright, polished nickel finish and no significant signs of use or mechanical wear. The original retail box shows moderate shelf wear, including scuffing at the corners, edge wear, creases, and minor surface abrasions consistent with storage.
