Description
The Savage Model 25 is a bolt action rifle chambered in .17 Hornet caliber and configured for precision varmint or target shooting. This example features a 24 inch heavy varmint profile barrel with a deep blued finish that matches the receiver. The rifle is equipped with an engine turned or jeweled bolt body displaying the Savage logo and includes a Bushnell telescopic sight with flip up lens covers and a multi point drop compensating reticle. The rifle is mounted in an attractive reddish brown laminated wood stock featuring a Monte Carlo cheekpiece, integrated sling swivel studs, and a textured black rubber buttpad. A short Picatinny style accessory rail is installed on the underside of the forend for mounting a bipod or other accessories. Key markings on the barrel include SAVAGE M-25 17 HORNET CALIBER followed by the manufacturer address SAVAGE ARMS INC., WESTFIELD, MA 01085 USA and the warning BEFORE USE READ & UNDERSTAND OWNER’S MANUAL. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the serial number H702016. The underside of the stock still bears the red factory AccuTrigger sticker. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
This rifle is in excellent overall condition, retaining approximately 98 percent or more of its original deep blued finish with only minimal handling marks. The engine turning on the bolt is crisp and bright. The reddish brown laminated wood stock is in fine condition, maintaining its high gloss luster with no significant dings, scratches, or cracks. The Bushnell optics are clear with a well defined reticle and smooth adjustment dials. The action appears to function smoothly and correctly, although the firearm has not been test fired with live ammunition. The bore was not inspected but the exterior condition suggests very little use.
