Description
This is a Remington Model 870 Wingmaster pump-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge for 2 3/4-inch or shorter shells. The firearm is equipped with a 28-inch plain barrel featuring a single silver front bead sight and a fixed modified choke. Both the receiver and barrel exhibit a polished blued finish, complemented by a bright, high-polish bolt. The furniture consists of a glossy finished walnut stock and forend, featuring decorative fleur-de-lis checkering and a serrated forend for improved grip. The stock is finished with a black plastic buttplate embossed with the Remington logo. Key markings include the model designation Remington Wingmaster MODEL 870 and the serial number 996830V on the left side of the receiver. The barrel is marked 12 GA. FOR 2 3/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS and MOD on the left side, while the right side is stamped with REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC., ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. along with several patent numbers. Condition report:
The firearm is in very good overall condition. The blued finish on the receiver and barrel remains deep and consistent, showing only minor handling marks and typical operational wear on the magazine tube from the pump action. The bore is bright and smooth. The action appears to function correctly and cycles smoothly, though it has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The wood furniture retains a high-gloss finish with a few light surface scratches and minor dings consistent with field use. The checkering is sharp and well-preserved.
