Description
This is a single-shot, break-action shotgun chambered in 16 gauge, featuring a 27-inch barrel and an exposed hammer design. The firearm utilizes a side-lever opening mechanism located on the right side of the frame, which is accompanied by a distinctive circular floral engraved plate. The walnut furniture consists of a smooth forend and a semi-pistol grip stock, which has been fitted with a weathered orange rubber recoil pad depicting a flying goose and marked Patent Applied For and 2. Key markings include the manufacturer trade name Wedgeway Arms Co on the left side of the receiver. The right side is stamped with the marking PATENTED followed by the dates DEC. 15, 91. OCT. 2, 94. AUG. 11, 96. AUG. 14, 00. MAY 27. The top of the barrel is stamped with the number 16 to denote the gauge, and the lower tang bears the serial number 79014. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal components exhibit a heavy brown patina with areas of thinning finish and light surface oxidation throughout the receiver and barrel. The wooden stock and forend show numerous scratches, dings, and handling marks consistent with utility use, though they remain structurally sound. The bore appears dark with visible light pitting throughout its length. The break-action and side-lever mechanism appear to function correctly, and the hammer holds at full cock, though the firearm has not been function-tested for safety or live firing. The orange rubber recoil pad is significantly weathered and shows cracking at the edges.
