Description
This Thompson Center Arms Renegade is a .54 caliber percussion muzzleloading rifle designed with a robust octagonal blued barrel and double-set triggers. The rifle features a scroll-engraved lock plate and hammer with visible case-hardened colors, paired with a dark hardwood stock that includes a semi-pistol grip and a small five-pointed star inlay on the left side of the butt. It is fitted with an adjustable rear notch sight, a blade front sight, and a wooden ramrod stored in dual metal ferrules beneath the barrel. Key markings on the top barrel flat include THOMPSON / CENTER ARMS ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE .54 CAL. RENEGADE, while the left side is stamped with the serial number 216317 and the warning BLACK POWDER ONLY—INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE READ BEFORE USE. The buttplate and trigger guard are constructed of steel with a blued finish. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The barrel retains a high percentage of its original blued finish with only minor surface marks. The lock plate and hammer show vibrant case-hardened colors. The steel buttplate exhibits significant surface oxidation and pitting. The hardwood stock is in good overall condition with scattered small dings, light scratches, and handling wear consistent with field use. The action appears to function correctly, including the set trigger mechanism. The bore was not inspected.
