Description
An Egyptian Hakim 7.9mm Semi-Automatic Military Rifle, dated 1955. This semi-automatic military rifle features a dark reddish-brown wooden full stock and dark blued or parkerized steel components. It is prominently marked on the receiver as “HAKIM 7.9mm MADE IN EGYPT,” bears the serial number “555,” and includes Arabic script translating to “Egyptian Republic” and the year “1955.” The rifle is chambered for 7.9mm (commonly known as 8mm Mauser or 7.92x57mm). Distinctive features include a detachable box magazine, a hooded front sight, and a multi-port muzzle brake. The Hakim rifle was developed by Egypt, based on data and tooling acquired from Sweden’s AG42 Ljungman rifle, with key differences being its 8mm Mauser caliber and adjustable gas system.
Condition report:
Used condition. The dark reddish-brown wooden full stock exhibits numerous scratches, dents, and areas of finish loss consistent with military service and age. The dark blued or parkerized steel components show thinning of the finish, particularly on high points and edges. The rifle remains structurally complete.
