Description
A Soviet Medal for Bravery, II Type, dating from 1938. This circular, silver-colored metal military medal features the Cyrillic text “ЗА ОТВАГУ” (For Valor) in red enamel, an image of a tank, three stylized airplanes, and the text “СССР” (USSR) at the bottom. The reverse bears the engraved serial number “2756135.” It is suspended by a ring from a pentagonal white or cream-colored grosgrain ribbon with two prominent vertical blue stripes, mounted on a metal plate with an attachment pin on its reverse.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces show significant tarnish, scratching, and dulling. The red enamel on the obverse is largely intact but shows some wear. The ribbon is heavily discolored, stained, and frayed, particularly around the attachment mechanism. The attachment pin appears functional.
