Gun Collectors Dream Auction #79 Weapons of War
Lot 1213:
Sold for: $110
Description
A WWII Imperial Japanese Army brass bugle, fitted with a separate silver-colored mouthpiece. The instrument is adorned with an extensive arrangement of orange braided textile cordage, featuring a wrapped section around the bell and tube, a connecting lanyard, and two prominent tassels attached near the bends of the instrument. No legible text, manufacturer’s marks, or period-specific engravings are discernible upon visual inspection.
Condition report:
Good antique condition commensurate with age and use. The brass surfaces exhibit significant age-related patination, tarnish, and areas of green verdigris, particularly noticeable on the bell and along the tubing. Multiple minor dents are visible across the horn\'s body. The textile cordage appears faded and somewhat worn.
