Lot 124:
Austro-Hungarian WWI B.G.B. Brumm 1916 Enamel Steel Military Canteen with Nesting Cup
Sold for: $55
Description
An Austro-Hungarian WWI B.G.B. Brumm 1916 enamel steel military canteen with its nesting cup. Constructed from enameled steel in a drab green finish. The canteen features an embossed circular cartouche reading ‘B.G.B. BRUMM 1916’. The nesting cup bears a similar, partially obscured marking ‘G.G.B. BRUMM 1916’. A twisted rope secures the canteen’s lid to one of its carrying loops.
Condition report:
Well-used condition, consistent with military field use. Characterized by widespread chipping of the enamel coating on both components, revealing significant surface rust on the underlying metal, particularly around the rims, handles, and bases. The twisted rope securing the lid shows wear and fraying.
