Description
This lot comprises a U.S. WWI M1911 .45 Pistol Belt, Holster, and Pouch Rig, with the holster manufactured by Graton & Knight (G. & K.) and dated 1918. The ensemble features an olive drab canvas pistol belt with numerous brass eyelets. The dark brown leather holster has an embossed “US” on its flap and is clearly stamped on the reverse with “G. & K. / 1918 / J. A. G.”, indicating the manufacturer, date of manufacture, and an inspector. Completing the rig is a tan canvas utility pouch, likely intended for magazines or accessories, which features two dark metal snap closures and is attached to the belt. The items exhibit a consistent style associated with early 20th-century U.S. military issue.
Condition report:
Apparent condition shows significant wear, creasing, and scuffs on the leather holster. The canvas components display visible discoloration and minor fraying. Verdigris is present around some metal elements, consistent with prolonged military use and age.
