Description
A Japanese Arisaka Type 99 bolt-action military rifle, dating to World War II. This rifle is constructed with a wooden stock and blued steel components, featuring bright metal hardware including the buttplate, trigger guard, and barrel band. The top of the receiver bears the remnants of a defaced Imperial Chrysanthemum crest, a common characteristic of Japanese military firearms. Below the crest are the characters “九九式” (Type 99) and the serial number “790080” along with a preceding series mark. The rifle is fitted with an olive drab canvas sling.
Condition report:
Overall condition indicates extensive use. The wooden stock displays numerous dings, scratches, and areas of discoloration. The blued metal parts exhibit significant finish loss, pitting, and patination, consistent with a military-issued firearm. The Imperial Chrysanthemum crest on the receiver has been defaced.
