Lot 1256:
East German M56 Steel Military Helmet
Sold for: $60
Description
An East German M56 Steel Military Helmet. This dark grey, matte-finished military combat helmet features a classic domed shell with a gently flared brim, characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century designs. The exterior shell is constructed from metal (steel, as per web intelligence). The interior reveals a brown leather liner suspended by white lacing from a central white plastic component, supported by yellow foam padding, and secured by a brown leather chinstrap. Stamped markings visible on the interior include “TT” followed by “3” and “87,” possibly indicating a production year or batch number.
Condition report:
Good, used condition. The exterior exhibits numerous surface scuffs and scratches, along with minor rust-colored blemishes consistent with age and use. The interior liner and chinstrap show expected wear. No significant damage or structural compromise observed.
