Description

A military bayonet manufactured by W.K.&CIE Solingen, Germany. This item features a single-edged steel blade with a prominent fuller, a dark wooden grip secured by two rivets, and a metal pommel designed with a rifle lug recess. The metal crossguard includes a muzzle ring hole and a distinctive curved quillon. Markings on the blade’s ricasso read “W.K.&CIE SOLINGEN,” identifying a German manufacturer, with additional stamped numerals “S” over “3” on the blade spine near the crossguard, and “B3” on the pommel. This pattern is visually similar to bayonets produced for various nations, including the Brazilian Mauser Pattern 1908 and the Turkish M1890.

Condition report:

The bayonet is in heavily used condition, exhibiting extensive surface rust and pitting across all metal components, and significant wear and scratches on the wooden grip. The blade shows considerable oxidation and loss of original finish. The wooden grip panels are worn, with dents and scratches commensurate with age and use. The pommel and crossguard also show heavy rust and pitting.
