Sold for: $1,050
Description
An antique German H. A. Dreyse Sömmerda M1879 Reichsrevolver. This antique metal revolver features wooden grip panels, a long barrel, exposed hammer, and a six-chamber cylinder with a side-loading gate mechanism. Prominent markings include the serial number “7238” visible multiple times on the barrel and frame, the caliber designation “10,55” (likely 10.55mm, consistent with 10.6x25mmR), and an oval manufacturer’s mark on the left frame reading “H. A. DREYSE SÖMMERDA DEPOSE.” A German Crown over “R” proof mark is also present on the frame.
Condition report:
The revolver exhibits significant wear and age, with extensive loss of original bluing, widespread dark oxidation and pitting across all metal surfaces, and worn, patinated wooden grips. It appears structurally complete. Fair condition consistent with age and heavy use.
