Lot 1506:
Sold for: $575
Description
A 1951 dated Russian SKS (Simonov Carbine) semi-automatic rifle, chambered in 7.62x39mm. It features a reddish-brown finished wood stock and handguard, paired with black blued or parkerized steel components. The rifle is equipped with a fixed folding spike bayonet and an attached khaki canvas sling with leather accents. Visible markings include a star emblem and the date “1951” on the receiver cover, “HM 68” on the receiver, and an import mark on the barrel reading “CAL. 7.62 X 39 RUSSIA”. The right side of the buttstock is impressed with Cyrillic letters “СБМН” followed by additional numbers and letters, likely a rack number or serial.
Condition report:
Good to very good overall condition. The reddish-brown wood furniture exhibits minor handling marks and wear, consistent with its age and use. Metal components show typical finish wear and some bluing loss. The fixed folding spike bayonet is present. The canvas sling shows minor discoloration and wear. Mechanically appears sound, but functionality is not guaranteed and should be inspected by a qualified gunsmith prior to use.
