Gun Collectors Dream Auction #79 Weapons of War
Lot 1542:
Sold for: $475
Description
A WWII Japanese T99 Arisaka Bolt-Action Long Rifle, note, this is the earlier long version, not the later mass produced carbine constructed with a full wooden stock and blued steel components. The receiver bears the serial number ‘927018’ and Japanese characters ‘九九式’ (Kyū Kyū Shiki), translating to ‘Type 99’. A heavily worn, likely defaced, Imperial Chrysanthemum crest is visible, alongside a small arsenal or inspection mark. All major components appear to be present and intact.
Condition report:
Fair to good vintage condition. The rifle displays significant wear consistent with its age and military service. The wooden stock and handguard exhibit numerous dents, scratches, and areas of finish loss. The metal components show thinning bluing, scuffs, and light surface corrosion, particularly on the receiver and bolt handle. The Imperial Chrysanthemum crest is heavily worn and appears to be defaced.
