Lot 1595:
A Collection of 59 Rounds of 7.62x54R Rifle Ammunition, including Silver Bear and Brown Bear
Sold for: $30
Description
This lot comprises 59 rounds of 7.62x54R rifle ammunition, primarily of modern Russian manufacture. The collection includes two branded 20-cartridge cardboard boxes: one blue “Silver Bear” box containing 203 grain Bimetal SP zinc-plated cartridges, and one teal “Brown Bear” box with 185 grain Bimetal FMJ lacquered cartridges. Also present is a plain gray cardboard box, partially open, revealing a mix of green lacquered steel-cased cartridges with varying projectile tips (copper, silver, and dark red/brown), alongside at least one brass-cased example. A plain yellowish cardboard box and a brown paper-wrapped pack, hand-marked ’50’, containing green lacquered steel-cased ammunition, are also included. Many of the visible cartridges feature a distinctive red sealant band at the projectile-case junction.
Condition report:
Good condition. Minor creasing and wear are present on the cardboard and paper packaging, consistent with storage. The cartridges appear clean and unfired.
