Description
The lot comprises three vintage whistles. The first is a brass “pea” whistle, identified as a U.S. Military type, marked “OFFICIAL MILITARY” on one side, “MADE IN U.S.A.” on the reverse, and a partially legible patent date of “MAY 29. 1915” on its top surface. It is attached to a coiled brass link chain with a key ring. The second item is a wooden-bodied slide-style whistle with metal components. The third whistle is a plain, silver-tone metal tubular design.
Condition report:
The brass military whistle displays overall tarnishing and minor surface wear. The wooden-bodied whistle shows significant wear, darkening of the wood, and surface abrasions consistent with prolonged use. The silver-tone metal whistle exhibits surface scratches, some discoloration, and plating loss.
