Sold for: $875
Description
A BSA Martini Cadet Rifle, early 20th-century style, featuring a single-shot falling-block action. The rifle is constructed primarily of blued steel with a figured wooden stock and forend. The receiver is clearly marked “MADE BY THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS Co LTD” with “TRADE MARKS BSA” and a patent reference “P. PAT. 24194-10”. Additional historical markings on the left side include “COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA VIC” (Victoria), along with inventory or serial numbers “80120” and “30922”. The barrel is stamped with the caliber “32-20” and a “Crown over BNP” proof mark. A jumping animal motif, likely a kangaroo, is present on the right side of the action, further indicating its Australian connection.
Condition report:
Good overall condition, exhibiting expected wear to the bluing and minor handling marks on the wood components consistent with age and use.
