This early 20th-century rifle features a wooden stock, blued steel barrel, and a combination of blued and polished steel components for the receiver and bolt. The receiver ring is prominently marked with an Argentine crest (sun, fasces, liberty cap within a laurel wreath) and the inscription “MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1909.” The left receiver rail bears the manufacturer’s inscription. The serial number “B 5809” is clearly visible on the receiver and bolt handle, and faintly discernible on the stock, which also features a circular cartouche. The rifle includes its original cleaning rod and bayonet lug.
Condition report:
Used condition, consistent with military service. The wooden stock exhibits numerous scratches, dents, and dings. Metal components show bluing loss, particularly on the barrel and receiver, with some pitting evident, notably on the buttplate. All major components, including the cleaning rod and bayonet lug, appear present and intact. The stock bears a discernible, though faded, circular cartouche.
