Description

A vintage bolt-action rifle manufactured by Ross Rifle Co. in Quebec, Canada, dated 1905. The receiver is clearly stamped ‘ROSS RIFLE CO. QUEBEC. CANADA. 1905.’ and ‘PATENTED.’ Additional stampings on the buttstock include ‘U.S.’ with an ordnance mark, the number ‘1284,’ ‘I.J. 1909,’ and ‘88433 HD’ alongside a crown emblem, indicating a manufacturing period around 1905-1909. The rifle is primarily constructed from dark-stained hardwood for the stock and forearm, and blued or patinated steel for the barrel, receiver, and other metal components. It appears complete with intact sights and sling swivels.

Condition report:

The rifle is in antique, used condition. The hardwood stock and forearm exhibit significant wear, scratches, and dents consistent with age and use. The metal components show a dark, aged patina with areas of surface corrosion. All major components appear present and intact, including sights and sling swivels.
