Lot 411:
Finnish Mosin Nagant Bolt-Action Rifle, 7.62x54R, with SA and SY Marks
Sold for: $425
Description
A Finnish Mosin Nagant bolt-action rifle, chambered in 7.62x54R. The rifle is predominantly crafted from a dark, reddish-brown wooden stock and blued steel components. Visible markings on the receiver include serial numbers “24093” and “S 96708”, along with a crown or crest symbol. Distinct “SA” in a box (Finnish military) and stylized “SY” (Finnish civil guard) property stamps are present. The steel buttplate shows additional faint numbering, possibly “HE227”. An import mark “MARATHON ENT CO INC HIALEAH FLA” is stamped on the barrel.
Condition report:
The full-length wooden stock exhibits substantial wear, including scratches, dents, and areas of discoloration, indicative of extensive past use. The metal surfaces, such as the receiver, barrel, bolt, and magazine, show significant bluing loss, scattered pitting, and surface oxidation, particularly visible on the bolt and barrel near the muzzle. Overall, the rifle appears complete and in well-used, fair-to-good condition for a military-issue firearm of its apparent age, with wear consistent with service.
