A WWII US Military .50 Caliber M17 Ammunition Chest, a rectangular, olive drab painted metal chest, likely aluminum or steel, fitted with a worn leather carrying handle and a central metal latch closure. The front panel is stenciled with the English text: ‘CAL. .50 MACHINE GUN SPARE PARTS CHEST, M2′. The interior reveals metal dividers and multiple pink/magenta stenciled alphanumeric codes such as ’17ST’ and ‘064-KL’ on the lid and inside surfaces.
