Description
A U.S. Military M17A1/M17A2 Chemical-Biological Field Mask Kit, dating to the early 1980s. The lot comprises a black rubber gas mask with yellowed circular eye lenses and a multi-strap dark blue webbing harness, marked “U.S.” and “M” (likely for Medium size) on the top. Accompanying the mask is an olive green canvas carry bag stenciled “U.S. CHEMICAL BIOLOGICAL FIELD M17” (partially legible), an “OPERATOR’S MANUAL, MASK, CHEMICAL BIOLOGICAL FIELD” (TM 3-6660-279-10, dated March 1983) detailing M17, M17A1, and M17A2 models, a packaged M17 chemical-biological mask canister (dated January 1983), a packaged “PAPER, CHEMICAL AGENT DETECTOR, VGH, ABC-M8” (book of 25 sheets), and a packaged mask liner/cover labeled “TYPE M40”.
