Description

A Persian Contract Mauser Model 30 Carbine, featuring a bolt-action mechanism. The rifle is constructed with a light-colored wooden stock and blued steel components, accompanied by a leather sling. The receiver is engraved with the Pahlavi-era Iranian crest, depicting a lion holding a sword with a sunburst behind it, encircled by a wreath. To the left of the crest, Persian script reads “تفنگ ۱۳۰۹ ساخت ایران” (Tofang 1309 Sakht-e Iran), translating to “Rifle 1309 Made in Iran,” indicating its manufacture date corresponding to 1930-1931. A serial number “۵۹۲۳۱-۱” (59231-1) is present. The rear sight displays range markings in Eastern Arabic numerals, from 10 to 18. Additional stamped numbers are visible on the buttstock, such as “D471” and “961,” and on the cleaning rod, such as “3899.”

Condition report:

Good overall condition. Minor wear and scuffs are present on the wood and metal finishes, consistent with a service arm of its age. No significant damage is observed.
