Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 1334:
Sold for: $50
Description
This lot consists of a fixed-blade hunting or utility knife and its corresponding sheath. The knife features a broad, drop-point blade crafted from Damascus steel, exhibiting a clear, undulating pattern characteristic of the material. The knife is constructed with a full tang. The handle scales are segmented and secured by silver-toned pins. The forward grip section is made of highly figured, stabilized wood with orange and black tones, separated by a thin brass spacer from the rear section, which is composed of dark, heavily grained material, likely horn or dark wood. A brass lanyard tube is located at the butt end. The accompanying sheath is made of dark brown or black leather or faux leather, featuring thick white contrast stitching along the perimeter. The retention strap is secured with a brass-toned rivet. No visible maker’s marks or text are present on either item.
Condition report:
The overall condition is good for used vintage reloading equipment. The olive green textured paint shows significant chipping, scratching, and wear consistent with regular use over decades. The black steel components show minor surface oxidation, but the polished metering drum appears clean and rotates smoothly via the crank handle. The adjustment rod and metering mechanism appear complete and functional. The plastic hopper shows minor surface scratches but is intact. The original cardboard box is worn, torn, and taped, but retains legibility. We have not function-tested this measure with live powder; all internal components should be inspected and calibrated by a qualified user prior to use. It is the buyer\'s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding reloading equipment.
