Condition report:
The overall condition of both the knife and sheath is fair to poor, showing heavy age and use consistent with a working tool. The blade displays heavy scratching, pitting, and dark patina, with no original finish remaining. The edge appears dull and may require professional sharpening. The stacked leather grip shows heavy wear, drying, and shrinkage, with noticeable verdigris (green patina) present near the guard, suggesting contact with copper or brass components. The metal fittings (guard and pommel) are heavily scratched and dinged. The leather sheath is stiff, dried, cracked, and heavily worn, though structurally intact.
