Description

This is a vintage leather saddle scabbard, commonly referred to as a rifle boot, designed to house a long firearm, most likely a lever-action carbine or short rifle due to the open cutouts accommodating the buttstock and lever assembly. The scabbard is constructed of heavy, reddish-brown leather with robust stitching along the edges. It features multiple integrated leather straps, including one strap utilizing a metal buckle, intended for secure mounting to a saddle or vehicle. A dark stamped inventory or serial marking is visible on the body near one of the mounting straps.
