Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 181:
Sold for: $30
Description
The lot consists of a military-style Metal Ammo Can filled with a bulk quantity of Cleaned .45 acp empty brass casings, suitable for reloading. The container is a standard olive drab military surplus can, commonly referred to as a .50 caliber size, though it is marked for 7.62mm NATO ammunition. The can markings are stenciled in yellow: 200 CARTRIDGES 7.62 MM, NATO M80 CARTONS, M13. The lot number is LC-98D127-066. The casings inside the can are uncounted but represent a substantial volume. Additionally, a group of fifteen (15) individual spent brass casings, consistent with the .45 ACP caliber, are included outside the can. All casings appear to be spent (fired) and cleaned, ready for processing.
Condition: The metal ammo can displays heavy service wear, significant scratches, and paint loss consistent with military field use. The olive drab finish is worn, particularly on the edges and high points. The hinged lid and latch appear functional, and the can retains its original structure. The brass casings, both the bulk quantity inside and the 14 loose casings, are spent (fired) and non-projectiled. They have been cleaned and polished, showing a bright, shiny finish with no visible corrosion or heavy fouling, making them suitable for reloading purposes. This lot contains only inert components and is not live ammunition. We have not function-tested this ammunition or components. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
Condition report:
The military Metal Ammo Can is in used, surplus condition, displaying heavy paint wear, scratches, and minor surface oxidation consistent with field use. There is white spray paint residue visible on the lid and side. The latch and handle appear functional. The brass casings are in excellent cleaned condition, bright and free of major corrosion or heavy fouling. All casings are spent (inert) and have visible primer strikes. It is the buyer\'s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
