Description

A single Smith & Wesson Model 19-5 double-action revolver, known historically as the "Combat Magnum, " chambered for the powerful .357 Magnum cartridge. This example is built on the medium K-frame and features a six-round fluted cylinder. The revolver is configured with a ribbed top strap, a ramp front sight incorporating a red insert, and a fully adjustable square-notch rear sight. The barrel is marked on the left side "SMITH & WESSON" and on the right side "S.&W. .357 MAGNUM." The right side of the frame bears the S&W logo and the four-line address: "MADE IN U.S.A. / MARCAS REGISTRADAS / SMITH & WESSON / SPRINGFIELD, MASS." Internal markings visible under the yoke include the model designation "MOD. 19-5," along with assembly markings "A3" and "75A V2." The revolver is currently fitted with modern, black, finger-grooved molded rubber/polymer grips, replacing the original factory wood stocks. The lot includes a black nylon soft case or holster with a hook-and-loop closure.
Condition: The overall finish is a matte black/blued appearance, retaining a high percentage of the original finish, consistent with light to moderate operational use. There is minor holster wear evident near the muzzle and sharp edges. The sides of the hammer and trigger show a slight patina or discoloration typical of use and exposure, suggesting they are case-hardened components. The rubber grips are in excellent condition with no major tears or damage. The bore appears bright with strong rifling, though this is not guaranteed without a bore scope inspection. The cylinder locks up tightly, and the double-action and single-action mechanisms appear to function correctly upon dry manipulation. We have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
