Harrington & Richardson Model 865 "Plainsman" Bolt Action Rifle .22 S L LR
Sold for: $190
Description
This lot consists of one Harrington & Richardson Model 865 "Plainsman" bolt-action rifle. This is a single-shot rimfire rifle chambered for .22 Caliber Short, Long, or Long Rifle ammunition. The rifle is configured with a traditional style wood stock featuring a pistol grip and fitted with a black polymer butt plate. The barrel and receiver exhibit a matte black blued finish. The rifle is equipped with sling swivel studs on the forend and buttstock. The receiver is factory drilled and tapped and currently mounts a vintage black tube scope bearing Weaver markings, secured by scope rings. Visible markings on the barrel include: MODEL 865 "PLAINSMAN" .22 CAL. S. L. LR. AC / HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON INC. No serial number is visible on the exterior of the receiver or barrel. This rifle utilizes a manually operated bolt-action mechanism.
Condition: The overall condition is good to very good. The metal components retain approximately 90% of the original matte black bluing, showing minor thinning consistent with age and handling. There is localized finish loss and wear visible on the metal trigger guard. The wood stock is in good condition, showing a reddish-brown finish with minor cosmetic handling marks, small dings, and surface scratches typical of a used sporting rifle. The bore condition is not assessed but appears clean at the muzzle. The bolt action appears to function correctly, cycling and locking into place. The mounted Weaver scope appears clear but has not been tested for zero or optical integrity. We have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
