Lot 53:
A Collection of 4 Benchmade Tactical Folding Knives including Casbah and Mel Pardue Designs
Sold for: $400
Description
This lot comprises four heavily used Benchmade tactical folding knives. The collection features various mechanisms and steel types, all utilizing black-coated, partially serrated (combo edge) blades. Specific models identified include the Benchmade 4400BK Casbah automatic knife, featuring a push-button auto lock and CPM-S30V steel, consistent with the model line often associated with the ‘auto’ and ‘grivory’ keywords. Two knives in the lot are identified as Mel Pardue designs, both utilizing 154CM steel and the Benchmade AXIS locking mechanism. One of these is marked with the model identifier 5700. The fourth knife is an unidentified AXIS lock model. All knives feature black synthetic or aluminum handles and include their original black pocket clips.
Condition: Condition is heavily used and worn across all four knives, consistent with extensive field use. Blades exhibit significant cosmetic damage, including extensive surface scratching and substantial loss of the original black protective coating, exposing the underlying steel. The handles show heavy scuffing, dings, chipping of the finish, and grime buildup, particularly noticeable in the textured areas of the Casbah model. All pocket clips show finish wear and scratching. Mechanical function (locking mechanisms, deployment) appears operational but has not been fully tested or guaranteed. Edges require sharpening.
