Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 553:
Sold for: $35
Description
This lot consists of two vintage American telescopic rifle sights. The first optic is a fixed power scope, marked WEAVER K2-A USA. It features a matte black finish and is mounted with fixed rings. The scope utilizes external adjustment turrets marked with white index lines. The second optic is a variable power scope, marked BUSHNELL DUPLEX TESTED SCOPECHIEF and bears the serial number 102321. This scope has a glossy black finish and features a rotating power adjustment ring marked PATENTED, along with a side-mounted turret. The view through the ocular lens reveals a standard fine duplex crosshair reticle. The Bushnell scope is currently secured by two thick rubber bands, likely intended for lens retention or protection.
Condition: Both optics exhibit moderate to heavy cosmetic wear consistent with age and field use. The Weaver K2-A shows significant finish wear, scratching, and minor surface oxidation, particularly around the objective bell and tube. The adjustment turrets appear intact but show wear to the white markings. The Bushnell Scopechief retains a high percentage of its glossy black finish but displays numerous scratches and scuff marks along the tube. The glass clarity appears acceptable for vintage optics, and the reticle is visible and intact in the Bushnell. We have not function-tested these optics for tracking accuracy or internal mechanical integrity. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
